Search for Standards

The Techstreet database includes selected Australian and ISO standards relevant to teaching and learning at Wodonga TAFE, including those referenced in the National Construction Code (NCC).   If you have already installed Acrobat Reader and the FileOpen plugin, and created an account for Techstreet, you can access the database from the following link.  First time users please follow the instructions below for setting up access to Techstreet.

Technical update

As Techstreet continues to maintain and enhance our applications, we need to perform an upgrade that may require user action once complete. Specifically, DRMed PDFs that were downloaded before April 13, 2023 may need to be re-downloaded. In other words, if you see a “Invalid parameters. Please re-download this document” error when you try to open a secured PDF from Techstreet Enterprise, you will need to re-download that PDF to access it.

  Important information about using Standards
  • Viewing of standards online is limited to a single concurrent user.  You are encouraged to download/save AS standards to your device before viewing as this use will not be limited.  ISO standards, including those downloaded, are limited to a single concurrent user. Alternatively, view previously downloaded standards in offline mode only by turning off your wifi/internet connection.
  • You can save standards to one device. FileOpen associates the standard with your computer, so it’s only accessible from there. Downloaded/saved standards will be watermarked with the user's details. Saved standards cannot be transferred to shared drives, Moodle, or emailed.  You must be logged into Techstreet to open downloaded/saved standards.
  • You can print the standard (in whole or part) for your personal use, or use within the organisation. Printed standards will be watermarked with the user's details.
  • You cannot copy the whole or any part of the standard (except for saving and printing as detailed above), or reproduce, modify, duplicate, create a derivative work from, republish, adapt any part of a standard.
  • You must not remove, alter or obscure any ownership, copyright, trade mark, confidentiality or other marks or legends (including any digital watermark or other digital rights management tool) on or in the standard.

NOTE: If you are using Google Chrome or Microsoft Edge as your browser: These web browsers have a built-in reader that will interfere with FileOpen. On the DOWNLOAD button, right click, choose "save link as" or "save target as" - save the document to your desktop, documents or downloads (it cannot be save on a shared drive and do not change the file name). Once saved, open the document directly from your computer using Acrobat Reader.

TIP: If you need to access downloaded standards, don't select Logout when you exit the database - just close the browser tab instead.  Just be aware that it may take 10 minutes to release the single user online viewing license if you have used this method.
