Website Example

Images or other visual works from a website where there is no image author specified.

• When it is not clear who the image has been created by then reference the author of the website page you obtained it from. 
• When there isn't a website date use n.d. in place of the date (n.d. simply means "no date")

For images on a website where the image creator's details are present reference the image as a stand-alone work.

Instagram Photo

Present the name of the individual or group author in the same way as you would for any other reference. Then provide the Instagram handle (beginning with the @ sign) in square brackets, followed by a full stop.

Moodboards

Whilst there are no official APA7 rules on referencing moodboards, it is advisable to reference a moodboard the way you would a Pinterest board. Ensure all images within the moodboard are linked back to their original source.

Pinterest Photo (Pin)

Pinterest is a website that allows users to locate and save images (pins) to online boards. You should always try to find the original source of the image (e.g., the website they came from). If you cannot find the original source, please use the format below:  

• A retrieval date is used because content may change and Pinterest users cannot archive their content. 
• The name of the person who has pinned the image is given as the author.
• The title is not italicised because an image on Pinterest is always part of a collected group of images known as a 'board'. If you are referencing a Pinterest 'board', place the title in italics.
